Impulse Float
This mixed media sculpture is comprised of disposable memorabilia and packaging from materials which are mass produced and marketed as assessories which will "enhance our experience". I've also added in a few textures from banal, unnoticed parts of daily rituals (washing dishes, sitting on an old chair, tacking a note to a board).
The form was inspired by holiday or football game parade floats as well as those ridiculous hats that British royalty wear; emblematic of two of Americans' favorite spectacles.
